I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow. Driving 5 hours from LA to visit my BFF Cassandra! The interesting part for me will be the fact that I'll be making this trip solo, and to date, it'll be my longest solo trip yet. So I have my iPhone up to date with music and podcasts to keep me occupied. My parents are worried of course. They seem to imagine everything that can go wrong will go wrong, nevermind my oil was recently changed, dads gonna check the water and tires tonight, I'm driving in the day time, AND i have AAA. Honestly I'm excited about this, but I love road trips so I'm treating this like an adventure.
I'm not entirely sure whats the whole plan while I'm there, but we are going to go to a My Chemical Romance/Blink 182 concert Friday night, and most likely go dancing Saturday night. And I'm very excited about both of them! Outside of Wizard Rock shows, this will be my first concert since Green Day did their American Idiot tour. And it'll be my first time going dancing since LeakyCon and I'm so looking forward to that. And I already know I'll be drinking so there's that to look forward to. I probably shouldn't be so excited about getting drunk, but I am. No idea how I should feel about that...
But thats all tomorrow; today I'm finishing packing and cleaning, going to Robin's to watch some Doctor Who (she's just started season 6 so we're almost finished), and reading some Frankenstein critiques so I can pull some quotes for my essay. The essay which is due on Monday, which means I want to be back home Sunday night by 8 so I have time to write it. Normally I'd think "No problem" but its been so long since I've written a proper essay that I'm just a bit hesitant. But then, my best essays are usually the ones I do in the middle of the night, so the time crunch should be inspiration enough to get through it. I suppose my biggest worry is how to organize my essay, because I already know I'm going to be writing a Disability Studies Critical Essay and I know what questions I want to answer and I know what quotes I'll be using from the book, I just have no idea how my intro and thesis will look and so I don't know how the rest of my paper will follow.
I also got my hair cut today, and while lately, my hair has always been kept short, I finally went for an honest-to-God pixie cut, which I've always wanted, but never quite managed, so little by little I've been telling my... hair cutter? beautician? stylist? the same girl I go to everytime I want my hair cut, to go shorter and shorter, and now its all pixie-ed! Thankfully I can still pull off Fedoras so that a complete win! Headbands, on the other hand, are more of a case by case basis. But at least theres a few that i can still use.
Actually I've been listening to podcasts all day so I may just have good music on my drive to Vegas... oops.

AAA
So it's been awhile since I posted anything. Even with the new Blogger app (finally) I just don't know what to say. The problem us that my life lately has been so pathetically mundane I haven't really had anything to talk about. If course, when I do have something I want to share I always have these grand plans about how I'm going to phrase things. Then I get to my computer and I can't make myself say more then "omg so awesome"
Like on Sunday. I went to Long Beach with friends and got to rent a Segway to explore the area with. It was my first time on a Segway and it was a lot of fun. They went faster then I expected, but in a way it's also a bit sad to be excited to be traveling at 12 MPH too... But it was a lot of fun, if I had the cash, I admit I would totally like to have one. I don't know where I would use it, cause I feel like, if I used it at malls where typically only security uses them, I'd come off like a giant douche...
Anyways after 2 hours on those suckers (I only tripped like 3 times and didn't eat it at all!), We got some Coldstones Ice Crem, mine was insane: cheesecake ice cream, oreo cookies, white chocolate chips, and caramel, we headed to a used bookstore. The Building they were using was an old Borders, till, you know, they went out of business... So that part was just a tiny bit "awww" inducing, but the best part was that everybook was selling for just a dollar. Paperback, Hardback, textbooks, bestsellers, Everything! I am so happy that that I didn't bring my wallet while Segway-ing, because that way I could only spend the small amount of many I had in my pocket, instead of, you know, my entire paycheck. And Since I had just bought some Coldstone Ice Cream that meant I had $12 in my pocket. So after spending a good 2 hours wandering the aisles I walked out with 11 books:
See? thats actually a pretty good day that I can make into a blog post. But for some reason when I tried writing it the first time it was no where near this long...
Sadly, I'm still at the phase where I have to force myself into blogging properly and not just thinking of doing it later.
Oh and as for the title today. I went to pick up my comics today; Batwoman, Superboy, and Batman and Robin, and when I purchased them and left I realized I didn't have my keys. When I walked into the Comic Book Shop I only had my wallet and my phone. I had stupidly left my keys in the car. D'oh!
Thankfully AAA has an iphone app that I could use to request service. And while I was waiting for someone to show up I ended up seeing it as a perfect excuse to actually blog. Of course, right when I started getting into it, AAA shows up and opens my car door for me. But I suppose the app served its purpose cause here I am on my laptop, Charlie, typing away...

Another Lunch break post
Gah! I can't believe I forgot to BEDA yesterday... That really sucks. I also can't believe that April, and BEDA, is almost over. In a way it's a relief that I won't stress out about finding a half hour block to post, on the other hand, it was nice spending the day thinking about what to blog. Although I suppose now if I just blog every few days I can find more time to write it all out and not let it have that rushed feel that some of mine* had.
In some other news I went on a run yesterday, well a jog, but it was about 2 miles total. My legs are killing me today, and they scheduled me as a food runner, which means I just spend my entire shift walking from the kitchen to the tables loaded with heavy and hot plates of food. Don't get me wrong, I love food running shifts. I spend the entire time fetching things for other people and I love work like that, I'm good at it**.
Actually funny story about work. I was scheduled today at 4 like I always am, but usually I'm scheduled to be the Host, coordinating where people and reservations are sat. The hosts also have a slightly different dress code that is, especially for the females, usually nicer clothes. So I was in my black slacks and a nice short sleeve shirt. As a foodrunner I would be in my black dickies and a long sleeve button down shirt... Um oops. Thankfully none of the managers were too pissed about it, or pissed at all really, which is great cause normally they'd send me home to change. I'm still in my nice pants but I had a long sleeve shirt that wasn't button down. But on break (now actually) I went to get my headphones outta my car and I was looking in my trunk for a jacket but nstead found a brand-new black button down shirt. I bought it months ago bt since the material was subpar I was gonna return it and never got around to it. Total blessing in disguise, right?
Breaks almost over sadly, but on the plus side I'm not closing tonight! And tomorrow I'm taking the younger cousins to USC for the LA Times Festival of Books! Which is basically I giant book fair! Last year John Green was signing his latest book. This year I'm hoping to meet Jonathan Stroud, who wrote the Bartemaeus Trilogy which I adore!
Till Tomorrow,

So late...
But I really don't want to fail BEDA!!! Especially since this is the longest streak I've ever had! So today's Stats:
Breakfast: tea (English breakfast), scrambled eggs, orange juice, 2 oranges, and toast.
Clean: Not even a little. I completely fail at beng an adult
Reading: nope. Which is silly cause I'm reading another book By Carlos Ruiz Zafon called The Angel's Game which is so far very intriguing...
Watch: disc 3 and part of disc 4 of Friend's season 3. The Rachel/Ross breakup is still way intense.
Lunch: Ramon Noodle and juice. Completely undoing the good of breakfast, but that's normal for me...
Clothes: work clothes- black pants, black top. BJ's has completely ruined me for wearing black, the bastards.
Podcasts: so so behind but almost done with the back log of Views From a Longbox and it feels good go be listening to comic talk again.
Spending: well there's the plus of paying my phone bill, but the slight negative of buying a camcorder... Thankfully only $100 and takes SD cards instead of internal memory, which I just don't agree with...
Work: alright, but fellow host turning all crazy bitchy like, well, me, was quite bizarre. Thankfully she her shift was finished quickly after.
Tomorrow: late shift so I plan to clean. Will try to go running, want to eat healthier then I have been. AND NOT SPEND ANY $!!!!!

Mostly about Teefury
I sadly did not take any time today to think of what I wanted to blog about. And outside of classes and work I didn't do much. I did buy a pair of black denim jeans, and I don't think I've ever owned a pair of black denim jeans before... I also got my doctor who/ the beatles tee from teefury so that was a plus! I also bought the doctor who shirt TeeFury is selling till tomorrow night. It's a Doctor Who and Star Wars mash up. And I'm not complaining or anything, but TeeFury really does love their mashups, don't they? They're also apparently gonna sell a Torchwood one right after the DW/SW one and Since I'm almost done with season 2 I'm very excited to see what they create! I wish today's post had more substance, especially since tomorrow I work a full shift tomorrow, so I may have to do a quick post if I want to keep my streak going... ah well, It's only the 1st week, there's still plenty of chances for brilliance :)

Let's just pretend this title is interesting...
Cause once again, I find myself having to update in-between events. This time it's after work and before a friend's bday party. A bunch of us, the Noble Crew (we all know each other from when we worked together at Barnes & Noble; the only place I've ever worked where the employees felt like honest-to-God family) are going out to celebrate with margaritas! And as excited as I am to see the gang again, I may be even more excited about FINALLY wearing my heels. Nude colored with that hidden platform in the toes that make them look more hardcore then they actually are. Bliss.
Mind you, what with working at 7am tomorrow this may not be one of my more intel ever ideas. Ah well, cute heels and margaritas. I'll live :)

heh
I'm at work right now, manning the nook station at work but its really slow so I'm playing with the nook.
Ooh, I just sold a nook Color! I usually suck at closing a sale. So not much going in with my lige right now. Ok that's not true. I just still don't want to talk about it, its just either too much or nothing. And thinking about it makes me want to cry or scream. Plus it gives me a headachr. Oh I should go to lunch. Time flew. No idea how...

Back Home, Bedroom Woes, LATFoB
Hey all!
So My Spring Break is over and done with, and its back to school. Spring Break was spent in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park with my Geology class, in what was basically an extended Lab. Some of the notes were interesting and some were deathly boring, but the Hikes were awesome! There was one hike where we traveled to a palm grove that was being fed from a spring. The best part there was an area of water that was about 3 ft deep, so what started as going in to just wet my legs turned into me jumping in fully clothed! And the water obviously felt great, and it was something so spontaneous and comepletely unlike me, but well worth it!
There were also a couple of F-16s flying by which, added with seeing the bad land topography that was used for the Soarin' Over California ride at Disney's California Adventure and at Epcot in Florida, made me wish I had the ride's soundtrack playing on a loop! I love camping in the desert, and although AB has Nothing on Death Valley, its still a great place to visit!
So before I left for my camping trip/really long lab class I had to completely empty out my bedroom because Dad was getting me new flooring, a new bed and a new dresser. He was gonna use the week i was gone to finish that up, the idea being that when I get back I would have my room all set up... except it totes wasn't. Just the new floor, but no bed and no dresser. My books and my desk, and basically everything else thats mine is either in the back yard or in the living room... My dad put in a mattress in the room so that i can sleep but other then that i don't really have a room now... which really sucks. I get home, and instead of heading to my room to go online or watch a movie or change or anything, I'm kind of stuck in the living room doing nothing... sigh.
Having a space to be completely alone is important to me, and i don't have it- I'm like a dog who's had their food bowl moved.
Some better news is that this weekend is the LA Times Festival of Books! I love going there every year! On Saturday I spend the whole day there alone checking out authors and stalls I want to see and not worrying about other people wanting to do other things... And on Sunday I go again after Mass, with my younger cousin Elizabeth who loves reading as much as I do! She looks forward to that as much as I do!
I still don't know which authors will be there, so i need to check cause if its someone I live I like taking my books there so I can get Author signatures! I also love finding new books that I never heard of before. LATFoB is responsible for introducing me to Terry Brooks and Steven Brust, I got to meet Kevin Smith and Wil Wheaton and its just a nice weekend with nothing but books, how can that turn out sucky?

And the Award goes to...
So the Employee Appreciation meeting came and went. Sadly I did not get the Host of the Year award which, you know, totally bites. But what can you do? At the very least I did get a few servers who came up to me and told me that they believe I should have gotten that honor, which in a way is more satisfying then the award because the managers don't see everything but the servers know which hosts they like having around to seat their tables, so the people who's shift is dependant on how well I work think I do a bang up job.
I did manage to win a raffle and walked out of the meeting with $10 for itunes and $25 for target. I was hoping for the $100 American Express card or a bottle of Petron... but I did get a new CD off itunes so yay! Plus we spent the morning gambling and I turned a 100 chip into 700! I LOVE BLACKJACK!
So work: the girl who got Host of the Year chose that same day to inform everyone that even though she was scheduled to work the long shift (and the one with the most responcibilty IMO) on Valentine's Day she was not going to show. So everyone who was scheduled that day had to work a double shift... yeah, right now she's not the most popular girl at the host desk...
Anyways work is work, but they give me good hours so I'm one of the few who works 5 days a week... I mean it sucks that I no longer have a weekend cause I work Friday nights, Saturday nights, and Sunday nights, but I still have thursday nights and i have a bit of extra cash too!
School started last week. I'm enrolled in Health class and Geology class. I sadly did not get into my speech class, oh well. And I decided spur of the moment to try to get into a Shakespeare class but its looking a bit dire right now... I'll find out tomorrow I imagine...
I'm really excited about my Geology class because it includes a 4 day camping trip to Anza-Borrego (desert!) and let me tell you, i have been jonesing to get out of the city for a bit. It sucks being able to see the mountains so clearly and not be able to be in the mountains... :(
So not much going on in my life, I passed the written portion of the drivers test So i have a permit! I'm hoping to take the Driver's Test in March! Mostly just so I can get to Disneyland soon! I REALLY want to go!!!! its been 3 weeks!!! haha, i'm so obsessed!

Back to life?
Yeah... So its been awhile...
Part of the reason is that my poor Charlie (thats my macbook) died suddenly one day, and I didn't get him up and running for 3 months. Part of the reason for that is at first I was broke, then my sis was gonna buy it as a xmas gift, then i was out of the country, then i sister needed to actually, you know, order it, then i had to connect it myself. That last one was a bit scary, cause even though Macs, as it turns out, are rediculously easy to DIY, I was still scared that i would somehow screw up so completely that my mac would never survive... But I did it! Charlie is back and I am so happy about that! even if it is back to Tiger since thats what was current when I bought it, and I can't get it to Snow Leopard cause the disk was my friends and she can't find it, and I no longer have Microsoft Word cause another friend had that one, and she can't find her disc either... I'm gonna save up money for Snow Leopard at least cause a lot of my old applications like Evernote (which is awesome) need Leopard or Snow Leopard to operate...
Besides my computer woes, there is the fact that my life is ridiculously basic right now, all I really ever do is go to work... I have gone out with the girls quite a bit recently though, but in general there's not much going on in my life.
Speaking of the girls, I'm going out with Robin, Jen, and (maybe) Twin tonight to the AMC Theater at Downtown Disney cause for Vday they are having special screenings of Casablanca from now till the 14th! I love that movie, and its gonna be sweet to watch it in the big screen!
What else is going on? Well school starts next week on Tuesday. The only class i'm really looking forward to is my Geology class with one of my fave profs. A class that includes a camping trip to the Anza Borrego Desert. Its not quite Death Valley (which is awesome) but its still the desert, and i adore desert camping.
This Saturday morning is our restaurants Employee Appreciation Meeting. We get a nice breakfast spread, and a chance to gamble for raffle tickets that go to many many prizes! This year everything is shrouded in mystery, unlike last year where we already knew some of the prizes... We also have the Yearly awards for the best host, server, busboy (Service Assistant of SA), bartender, and takeout. And this is not vanity but at the very least I'm a top contender, even if i don't get it. I bust my metaphoricall balls at that job- going above and beyond as often as i am able too. At the very least I can safely say that I always do my job to the very best of my ability (whatever that may be) while some of the other hosts just breeze on by...
But really its not so much about the award ceremony (though i'd love to win) as it is about the raffle prizes (last year one of the prizes was an XBox 360- i'm hoping this year there's a Wii for me to win...), the blackjack table, and the awesome breakfast spread (the omelets from last year were SO GOOD!). Its also pretty great that i'm not the host who has to work right after the meeting, i don't come in till 5pm so i get the day after to do stuff.
Stuff which thankfully do not include cleaning my room, cause (drumroll please) for the first time in like 1/2 a year my entire room is clean! dusted, vacummed, and reorganized!
OK, well not comepletely reorganized cause now that my roon is clean i want to do some early spring cleaning with tossing things out that i don't use anuymore and once again my bookcase has turned into part filinf cabinet.
But Still! i can see the wood surface of my desk!!! Thats a big thing for me!!
Ok dinner time for me. Hope this post hasn't bored you. I'll see you soon!

Time Gone By and Future Plans.
After my totally awesome trip to WDW (except for the heat and coming home sick- damn you Florida) I have ended up back at school, Health test today (i hope i get a B at least) have to make up a Geo test, and catch up on online homework. Plus I need to (finally) watch Watchman. And clean up my room- I think my laundry is mutating again.
Last week on Sunday, I went to Disneyland. My friend was going with her friends from work to check out the new Halloween stuff going on and she invited me too. So I got to see the new Fireworks show and ride Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy. The fireworks were cool, except we were way back in Main Street (so not my Idea cause I always stand close to the castle) so I want to go back so that I can get a better look at the globe with Jack's and all the Villain's faces and also see Zero fly from up close. The fireworks were very Similer to WDW's Hallowishes, but we have that cool globe thing...
Ghost Galaxy was meh. Not worth the 65 min wait. In the beginning it was cool but there was just the one creature swiping at you over and over again, and it got old fast. As far as Space Mountain Promos go I like Rockin' Space Mountain a lot better. BUT, at night, the white building itself is pretty badass. They have all these starange creepy lighting on the building that slowly changes in color and texture. This goes on for about 10 minutes, and then you get these roughly 30 second moments of something happening to space mountain. Like something on the inside puching the building with so much force that it is cracking. Or something is slashing at the building or an alien invasion seems to be occuring, or strange lights are moving up... seriously cool.
I also FINALLY saw Murphy during Fantasmic! (Murphy being the nickname of the Dragon that was suppose to debut at the beginning of Summer for SummerNightastic) a little stiff but it is so great to see Maleficant actually turn into a dragon! and it is nice to see a really well created dragon, as opposed to the previous version, Bucky, who, bless her soul, was nothing more then a really cool looking head, a crane, and a lot of fabric...
Oh, so I've done it- for the 1st time ever I'm going to participate in National Novel Writing Month that happens every year in November. 50,000 in 30 days or 1,667 words a day. Thats roughly 175 pages. So a short Novel (or Novela). I don't know what I'm going to write about, but I think it will be Fantasy genre. Maybe soemthing like Kyo Kara Maoh where the "chosen one" is sent to live on Earth and then must return to their world to save it. I know for sure it will be a female protagonist... i can't pre write anything before November but i can think and plan... and create characters and then make friends with them and imagine how they will react to my life and see how different they are. Especially the protagonist, whoever she is...
Its a good thing I don't have to start until November, cause i have roughly 15 days to write not only my comic review for Tomadachi-zine.com, but also i want to finish my review of Geek Out Loud podcast (the official podcast of geekoutonline.com), and I need to write a short scary story for the Halloween issue... no clue what to do for that, maybe a haunted house story...
Well in any case that's life for now. Its gonna get crazy in like 5 seconds so I'm heading out. Peace out, y'all
